Product Description
Twenty-one years after his death, Bob Marley is still the undisputed king of reggae. Dennis Morris began photographing Marley when he was performing with the Wailers in London, and continued until the musician's death. Morris's recollections, quotations from Marley's lyrics, and interviews that reveal Marley's thoughts on life, politics, and race accompany the images. New photographs are featured throughout this second edition of the tribute to reggae's main man.

5 out of 5 stars absolutely gorgeous   March 19, 2002

Bob Marley is not only one of the most influential singer/songwriters ever, but he is incredibly photogenic. His songs are as beautiful as he is. Morris' book gives great insight into the man he was, not only through the main component of the book, the photographs, but also the commentary. The pictures are incredibly expressive, showing all of Bob's emotions. Morris' comments are perfectly placed and very well written. Action shots, stills, live shots of concerts...Morris has it all. Though my musical tastes have changed over time, and I expect they will even more as I grow older, Bob Marley will always be, by far, my favorite.

4 out of 5 stars The Worth Of A Picture   April 26, 2000

If a man is judged great by what he has done, what of he whose best may still lie ahead? Bob Marley has left a legacy that will lead a nation made of all peoples into greatness. His songs not only describe the path, but encourage us to take it. This pictoral of his life is as close as many can come to the essence of Bob without actually listening to the music. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Bob's music is a stroll through the Lourve.
