Product Description
An in-depth guide to one of the Caribbean’s true jewels, the verdant and dynamic Jamaica, this book covers all the sites and attractions the savvy traveler is looking for. Included is information about everything from hotels, resorts, restaurants, the art scene, and activities to pick-up joints, nude beaches, and the infamous Miss Brown’s mushroom tea.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting perspective; too short   January 23, 2003

This should not be the ONLY guidebook to Jamaica you buy - Lonely Planet is my favorite for specific and comprehensive info on hotels, sights, eats.

But this one offers a truly unique perspective and is a highly entertaining (though short at 45 pages) read. The author hates all-inclusives, loves Negril and has an interesting rundown on golf courses and the fancier villa resorts of MoBay and Port Antonio....right alongside a review of the best mushroom tea houses in Negril.

The only areas he really goes into are those I mention, and Kingston, and only a few hotels and restaurants in each.

I wish it were a longer book, it was an interesting and amusing read.
