5 out of 5 stars Bob Marley - The Legend Live   May 20, 2008
I am not a fan of reggae but when I saw and heard just a part of this I loved it. My son happens to be a lover of reggae. When I saw it I immediately bought it for him as a stocking stuffer and he holds it in high regard.

5 out of 5 stars One Of The Best Concert DVDs Available.   February 22, 2008
Recorded less than two years before his untimely death, this is Bob in all his glory. Full of energy and spirituality, Bob commands the stage with his timeless music and lasting message of hope, faith, unity, and equality. His accompanying band, The Wailers are also in fine form, and the audience is very involved with the performance and adds greatly to the atmosphere.

The songs featured a veritable mixture of Bob classics with a few rarer numbers thrown in. Among the highlights are the opening "Positive Vibration," a powerful "I Shot The Sheriff," a lively "Africa Unite," a passionate "One Drop," a bouncy "So Much Things To Say," the legendary "Jammin'," a beautiful "Is This Love," a nosstalgic "Stir It Up," and a fiery "Get Up, Stand Up," among others. The major high point however, is the blistering rendition of "Exodus," perform with a soulfulness and energy not heard even on the album version. Bob also performs several songs from what would be his final album, "Survival," all of which he performs beautifully.

The dvd comes with several bonus features that are a t reat for Marley fans. The booklet, with liner notes by Chris Salewicz, is a very detailed behind the scenes look at the show as well as the tour, and is beautifully written. There's several bonus features on the dvd. The documentary "Prophecies & Messages" is a great archival look at Bob, Salewicz gives a nice video interview, we get a bonus performance, "War / No More Trouble," an interview fans at Bob's November 27, 1979 show at The Roxy Theatre in L.A. to benefit The Sugar Ray Robinson foundation, and an interview with Wailers keyboardist Tyrone Downie about Rastafarianism.

This dvd is an excellent look at Bob and his impact on the word as well as his fans. It is a must for all fans of Bob, his music and his message.

4 out of 5 stars A "CLASSICAL " MOMENT WITH THE KING OF REGGAE.   November 7, 2005

BOB MARLEY,the most influential phenomenal reggae performer and his band(the wailers) can highly be appreciated in this D.V.D.21 songs (live) make it a collectible item. This is a great show-No question about it.The man himself is nothing short but a charismatic genuis. The public is incredible and lucky for this royal treatment. The feeling is that there may be something greater in the vault but this one here is still a great job!
The documentary extra is pretty interesting and as some of us knows it,'Rastafarism'(the philosophy behind reggae music) was mostly perceived by fans worldwide as a "get up and stand up for your rights" reminder than a "follow me" to a spiritual salvation. And we will certainly all agree on one thing for sure:-one love/people get ready-:that's the legacy of B.M.W.(Bob Marley and the Wailers).
Enjoy a legend live...Buy it...

If you want to see a real reggae concert in its entirety, Check this out. Bob and the Wailers give you 2 hours of nothing but Rasta music, none of this 45 minute concert stuff his children give you.

4 out of 5 stars Great Live Marley DVD   May 17, 2005

After purchasing the Legend DVD, I purchased this one. This was a great performance. I loved the entire set and the audience reaction to the music was great. Favorite tracks on this DVD were I Shot The Sheriff, Exodus, Jammin, Is This Love, Stir it Up, Concrete Jungle, and Get Up Stand Up. You can tell Bob was responding to their energy. The Marley family should release additional live DVD's so fans can watch a great artist at work.
A must have for any Marley Fan.
