5 out of 5 stars Is this love?   August 30, 2003

OK, I am a huge Bob Marley fan and I have all his albums on CD, but for me this is the prize of the whole lot. If you have a DVD player or a DVD drive on your computer, then you owe it to yourself to get this little disc.

What do you get? 22 of his best songs, mostly in live performances, but with some video renditions, plus a ninety minute "musicmentary" that has a few more songs and snatches of performances all over the world, linked by an interview with Marley, and lots of fascinating photography of Jamaican life and landscape. It even includes scenes of Haile Selassie's rapturous reception in Jamaica in 1966.

The video for Natural Mystic has fascinating footage of the scenes at Marley's 1981 funeral that is almost worth the cost of admission alone, and then you will see plenty of life in Trenchtown too, that gives you a real feel for the milieu that gave life to this music.

Lots of footage of Bob too, including him doing some tricks with a soccer ball, as well as loads of performances and a variety of dreadlocked hairstyles.

Watching this makes me feel 25 years younger. For the price, which is hardly more than a CD, you would be one crazy baldhead if you did not buy it.

This Art of Life is a must have. Bob Marley reveals The Way, The Truth and The Life. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of the Time Will Tell on DVD. Thank You for this exceptional presentation of a Legend.

Awesome 5.1 sound and clear crisp video. Two videos are actualy included the titled LEGEND and the TIME WILL TELL documentary video that runs 90 minutes on its own . A personal song list is one of the features icluded in the menu which allows you to set the order of play for the LEGEND part of the dvd. This is the first dvd by ISLAND RECORDS of the wailers and in my opinion it is wonderful .

It's everything already said here and more. I couldn't wait to check out this disc, so when it was delivered to my office, I popped it into my Sony Laptop. Turns out when you pop this DVD into your DVD-ROM computer and click on the "exclusive content" link on the player interface you also get access some really cool footage online that didn't make the DVD. Not even mentioned on the packaging. Nice easter egg!

5 out of 5 stars Legend DVD the best for live music performances!   August 3, 2003

This DVD is everything I hoped for and more. The live performances, footage and history of this reggae ICON are incredible.
It reminds you of "who" the real Bob Marley is- a crusader for human rights and an ingeneous muscian.
The concert footage of Bob and the Whailers is excellent, great sound! I personally enjoy Bobs rendition of "Could you be Loved " sitting by himself in a recording studio as clips of him playing soccer in Jamaica come by.
Blast this DVD on your TV/ Stereo and you will be transported. I recommend this DVD highly- less documentary, more live music- the first DVD for Bob to be centered more on music- a nice update.
